Glass Bead – Ember takes the fleeting city lights of a rain soaked bus journey and turns them towards heat and movement. Reds and vermilion gather against cooler green and turquoise, as if a glow has survived beneath the darker surface. The source is urban, but the resulting forms may also suggest fire or exposed earth. Among the five Glass Bead paintings, Ember is the most forceful expression of colour and energy, holding a moment between fading light and renewed intensity.
