A red vertical form interrupts the turquoise and green of Glass Bead – Signal. It may recall a traffic light or warning seen from the upper deck of a bus, but rain and movement have broken the surrounding city into fragments. The mark gives the eye somewhere to settle without making the scene easy to decode. In this part of the Glass Bead series, the question is how we find direction when the usual outlines of streets, buildings and vegetation have begun to dissolve.
