One of three paintings inspired by a November walk at Ushers Lake in Swords, Sunbeams and Foliage attends to the quieter changes in the woodland. Soft light catches leaves and low growth before they slip back into the cool greens and violets of the shade. The detail gives way to atmosphere: a passing moment that would be easy to miss even on a familiar path. Alongside Late Autumn Light and Sunlight Through the Trees, this painting records how one place can change as light moves across it.
