An abstract exploration of natural networks and organic growth, moving from luminous ochre and gold into darker layers of green, shadow and interwoven forms.
The composition can be read as a landscape viewed from above — perhaps from a drone or satellite — where familiar fields, vegetation, waterways and boundaries become increasingly abstract when seen from altitude.
Across the painting, the landscape appears to change progressively, with darker and more fragmented forms moving upwards through the composition. This introduces another recurring theme within the work: the tension between growth and decline, resilience and deterioration. What initially appears organic and fertile can also be interpreted as a landscape beginning to wither or transform.
The intention is not to prescribe a particular interpretation, but to invite the viewer to consider how differently we understand the land when viewed from a distance.
